We’ve all heard the saying before, bigger is better, but is that always the case? Well, when it comes to the size of your home, the reality is more complicated. The data shows that the average size of a single-family home has increased to more than 2,500 square feet — two and a half times larger than it was immediately after World War II. It’s been the prevailing wisdom that living in as much space as possible is always better but that might not always be the case.
